George Erik Moore, son of the late George H. Moore and Connie L. Lightfoot-Moore and the younger of two children, attended Celina Public Schools K-12 in his hometown of Celina, Ohio, which has always been near and dear to his heart. He was actively involved in music from an early age, excelling in music class and taking piano lessons at age 7. Later, he joined the school band as a percussionist/drummer at age 10, and playing music throughout his high school years in every band that Celina Schools offered (from playing quad-toms in marching band, to a variety of drums and percussion instruments in the symphonic and concert bands, as well as both jazz band and pep band. Learning guitar at age 12, he quickly formed a band with his local friends, playing at a variety of local establishments in and around Mercer County, Ohio as early as age 14.
During school, he was always particularly interested in history, and was actively involved in student government beginning in elementary school. He also got involved in U.S. Civil War re-enacting in 1999 in High School, participating in "recreating history by living it," traveling all across the mid-west and beyond, which he still loves to do when his busy schedule permits. George also tremendously enjoyed playing youth baseball through his 8th grade year, when he abandoned his “Major League Dreams” just before high school in favor of pursuing his musical interests.
Upon graduating with Honors from Celina in 2000, he began pursuing his undergraduate studies at Wright State University's "Lake Campus" (located upon to north shore of beautiful Grand Lake, just outside of Celina). After completing his general education courses close to home, he transferred to Wright State University’s “Main Campus” in Dayton, Ohio, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, graduating laude in 2004.
He married his childhood sweetheart that same summer of College graduation, and after an unforgettable 3 week 8,000+ mile road trip “Out West”, he attended the University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, Ohio, earning a Juris Doctor cum laude in 2007. He was active in multiple school clubs, and earned the highest grade in the class (“C.A.L.I. Award”) in two of his classes, including in Entertainment Law. This class was taught by Frederick Dennis Greene, former member of the band “Sha Na Na,” best known for singing “Tears on My Pillow” featured in the movie “Grease.”
George began his legal career in 2007 as an attorney at Faber & Associates in Celina after passing the Ohio Bar Examination in July 2007. His practice focused extensively in the areas of complex negligence / personal injury litigation and negotiation, business formation and litigation, as well as maintaining an intensive criminal defense practice, representing clients in misdemeanor and felony cases. In 2011, he "switched sides" as he successfully ran for the elected position of City Law Director for his beloved hometown of Celina, and proudly began serving his first term in January 2012. In this unique position, he not only serves as Chief Legal Counsel for the City of Celina in all of its legal matters, but he also serves as the Prosecuting Attorney for the Celina Municipal Court. As the Prosecutor, he handles misdemeanors for all of Mercer County. George is currently in his fourth (4th) term as Law Director, having been most recently re-elected in 2023.

When not representing clients, George enjoys spending his free time with his family, including making "homegrown music" with The Erastus Family Band, which consists of George and his two (2) sons. They write and perform their own original music, and also perform a wide variety of cover songs, including Country AND Western, Rock, Blues, and more, too! They play shows at live music venues, and would love for you to come check out a show and say hello.
